Introduction

Invite 3-4 children to come participate in your lesson by telling them you have something to show them. Show each child where exactly to sit. Once the children are seated, you sit so that you can see them all, they all can see you, and yet you are not in front of them. Preparation

Tell the children that when you meet someone for the first time, we introduce ourselves by saying hello and telling the person our name. Tell them that we are all going to practice introducing ourselves to each other. Presentation

Sit on your knees and extend your right hand to one of the children. Look him straight in the eyes. Say: “Hello, my name is Tania”. Release your handgrip. Extend your right hand to the child sitting to the left of the first child and look him straight in the eyes. Say, “Hello, my name is Tania.” Release your handgrip. Repeat this for each child moving from one child to the next until you have introduced yourself to every child. Tell the children that you have now introduced yourself to each of them. Then have each child practice introducing himself to the others one at a time. Purpose

Direct: Teaching the children grace and courtesy in the classroom.

Indirect: To have the children know how to introduce themselves.

Points of Interests Looking the other person in the eyes as you are introducing yourself.
