I don't care for the way this material is normally used. Wouldn't it be better to take the randomly selected bead bars and then regroup them into tens? Wouldn't it be more a more useful exercise to take a random group of numbers and organize them than to just count endlessly? If you have a 9, look for a 1 to go with it. Set those aside. If you have a 7, look for a complementary 3. When you end up with no more numbers that go together to make ten, then exchange a bead bar for two smaller bead bars that will be useful.
