Materials	mystery bag objects to put inside

In this activity the child practices identifying objects by touch alone.

Presentation

1. Invite the child to the lesson.
2. Take the mystery bag to a mat or table.

   

3. Take out one of the objects from the bag and feel it.

   

4. Name the object for the child if they don't know what it is called.
5. Give the object to the child to feel.

   

6. Set the object on the mat.
7. Repeat with the other objects in the bag until they have all been taken out and placed on the mat.

   

8. Put the objects back into the bag.
9. Reach in with both hands and feel one of the objects.
   "I feel a ..." and name the object.

   

10. Take out the object to show that you were right. Set the object on the mat.

    

11. Repeat until all of the objects have been named and then taken out.
12. Put the objects back inside the bag.
13. Give the child a turn.
